Ajrena Foods Ltd Commissions New Peanut Processing Factory in Kano
Kano, Nigeria – May 21, 2025
Ajrena Foods Ltd has officially commissioned a new state-of-the-art peanut cleaning and coated snack processing facility in Kano State, further advancing its commitment to delivering high-quality, nutritious, and affordable food products across Nigeria.

The commissioning event brought together dignitaries from government, development agencies, private sector leaders, and stakeholders in the agricultural value chain to celebrate this important milestone.
A Shared Vision Made Possible Through Partnership
In his remarks, Mr. Ajay Ramnani, Executive Director of Ajrena Foods Ltd, expressed appreciation to the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) of the United Kingdom for its pivotal support in bringing the project to life.
“Thanks to their generous grant, we have not only built this world-class facility but also equipped it with advanced machinery to clean locally grown peanuts and produce our flagship Nutzy Coated Peanut Snacks. The FCDO’s belief in our vision and their financial support made all of this possible,” he said.
Through FCDO’s delivery partner Propcom+, Ajrena launched its first outgrower program in 2024, which trained over 1,000 farmers — primarily women and youth — on modern agronomic practices, supplied quality inputs, and introduced traceability from farm to factory.

“This backward integration supports our efforts to meet global quality standards, improve farmer livelihoods, and contribute to the return of Kano’s iconic groundnut pyramids,” Ramnani added.
A Factory Designed for Impact
The newly commissioned facility is dedicated solely to peanut cleaning and the production of Nutzy coated snacks. It is a major step toward strengthening Ajrena’s supply chain and scaling production to meet growing demand.
“Every machine here, every square meter of warehouse space, is a testament to what can be achieved when vision meets meaningful support,” Ramnani noted.
Partners Share Their Support

Dr. Adiya Ode, Political Director and Team Lead of Propcom+, also spoke at the event, highlighting the project’s impact on sustainable sourcing and local livelihoods.
“We provided both technical and financial support to help build a reliable supply chain. Today, local farmers are fully integrated into Ajrena’s sourcing model. It’s a true partnership — Propcom+ offered the grant, and Ajrena committed the vision and capacity to make it work,” she said.
Government Endorsement
Representing the Kano State Commissioner for Agriculture and Natural Resources, Mallam Aminu Iliyasu commended Ajrena’s investment and emphasized the state government’s commitment to agricultural industrialization.
“This aligns with our agenda to grow agro-based industries, reduce import dependence, and create jobs for our youth. We believe this factory will spark more investments like this across Kano,” he remarked.
At Ajrena Foods Ltd, we remain committed to value-driven innovation, partnerships with local farmers, and the development of affordable, nutritious snacks for every Nigerian household.
